Welcome to the newly-launched Orthodox Faith website (version 4.0)! Bringing the Light of Orthodox Christianity to the World Wide Web!
This website, unfortunately, is currently under construction. Nevertheless, due to frequent updates, it is hoped that the Orthodox Faith website will always remain as a work in progress.
This website seeks to serve as a source for people of other confessions to receive a correct understanding of the Orthodox Faith, and also as a website for Orthodox Christians interested in learning more about their own tradition.
The mission of the Orthodox Faith website is as follows:
-
To serve as a source for Orthodox doctrine, dogmatic theology and ecclesiastical canon law.
-
To help the reader acquire a correct understanding of Orthodox spirituality, the Orthodox phronema (mindset), and way of life. With this is included a demonstration of the beauty of Orthodox spirituality in regards to iconography, hymnology, prayers and services. Also, an extensive compilation of the lives of the Saints will serve as an inspiration for Orthodox Christians struggling to confess the faith in their everyday life.
-
To outline the history of the Orthodox Church, the personalities and events throughout time that have shaped and developed Christianity.
-
To compare the similarities and differences between Orthodox Christianity and other confessions; to warn both Orthodox and heterodox alike of the dangers of the ecumenical movement and its impact on World Orthodoxy and other religious organizations.
-
To inform the Orthodox world of the existence of the traditionalist movement against modernism, ecumenism and syncretism; and the struggle of the True Orthodox Church in the 21th century.
The website manager has attempted to make the Orthodox Faith website as user friendly as possible. Therefore this website has been designed to accommodate for both 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions.
Finally, we pray that the Lord will enlighten all who seek the Truth of the Orthodox Faith, and that He will generously reward all who labor and contribute towards the progress of this humble voice of True Orthodoxy on the World Wide Web.
Yours faithfully in Christ,
OrthodoxFaith.com web staff
